With self-driving vehicles looming somewhere on the horizon, it would be easy to assume that managing driver behavior is just a short-term responsibility – after all, the theory is when the robots take over, collisions will end, right?

was an early adopter of the Accident Avoidance System. Vice President Toby Boyles worked closely with BlueArrow CEO Stuart Lamm to develop and deploy the Driver Rewards initiative.
“We designed the program to reward both management and drivers,” Boyle explains. “We gave BlueArrow specific parameters we wanted to monitor – GPS data, speeding, harsh braking, seatbelt use, and maintenance
– and the system scores these using a 1 to 5 scale.”
These indicators surrounding safety, maintenance, and overall driving performance are then embedded and accessible via BlueArrow’s telematics partner, Geotab ’s,
award-winning fleet tracking platform. The MyGeotab platform integrates vehicle data assets and delivers critical business intelligence , compiling the information into a custom report that can be accessed at the click of a button.
“On a scale of 1 to 5, we saw lots of 3’s and 4’s the first month. Today, everyone’s score averages 4 to 4.5,” said Boyles. “All these technologies work together to assist us to meet our safety initiatives and produce positive results for the entire company.”
